Thurman House

In Loving Memory of Thurman House, age 76, of rural Monett, MO, he passed away at his home on December 8th, 2009, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Thurman was born on April 6th, 1933, in Bokoshe, OK, the son of the late Walter House and Leacy (Mills) House. Thurman served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 in Monett, a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett, and a retired Teacher and Coach for Sperry High School in Sperry, OK.
Thurman married Delorce Katheryn Sumner on November 23, 1955, in Tahlequah, OK. She survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Bob House, of Garfield, AR, Bill House and his wife Carol, of Monett; four grandchildren, Justin House and his wife Amanda, of Pineville, MO, Kaala House, of Bentonville, AR, Billie House and Samantha House, of Monett; two great-grandsons, Payton and Jaxson House, of Pineville; one sister, Maxine Lanza, of Tahlequah, OK; and a host of extended family and friends. Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Thurman House will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11th, 2009, at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Those gentlemen honoring Mr. House by serving as pallbearers will be Clint Dalbom, Doug Goostree, Kevin Schad, Matt Wages, Steve Hilton and Richard Scheihing. The family invites friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
